We spent a week recording in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 2021; heavy waves pulling past collaborators back together. Even in the haze of loss, life is still highs, lows, and in betweens-—and the sounds followed. The dustiest synths, forgotten vocal FX pedals, and warped drum loops were the escape and the salve—old friends trying new blends. Years later, PSYPIRTUAL took the sessions and mixed it all into PETAL STEEL.
